At 11:10 a.m. on 31 July 2025, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously proceeded to observe the progress of the royal initiative projects at Wat Suthasinee Border Patrol Police School, Sai Yok District, Kanchanaburi Province. This marks her fourth visit to this school and the 1,132nd visit to Border Patrol Police schools in total. The school currently offers education from kindergarten to Grade 6 and has 137 students.
On this occasion, Her Royal Highness presented First Class Honorary Pins to 14 individuals in recognition of their support for the royal initiative projects. She then reviewed the school’s development, particularly in the area of nutrition, where most students were found to have normal nutritional status and good physical fitness. Regarding educational opportunities, all students who completed Grade 6 were able to continue their education. The school currently has four scholarship students under Her Royal Highness’s patronage, with two having already graduated.
Her Royal Highness also observed various school activities, including the first aid room and library, which features a royal honor corner, a section for books bestowed by the Princess, and recommended reading areas. The library is open to students, alumni, and the public and organizes reading log activities, a mobile library, and board games to foster a love of reading among students.
In the student cooperative program, savings activities and a shop are in place to sell consumer goods, school supplies, products from vocational training projects, as well as fresh vegetables, fruits, and eggs from the School Agriculture for Lunch Project.
Vocational training for students includes silk weaving, making banana chips, pineapple jam, and herbal soap. These programs are conducted with support from the Queen Sirikit Sericulture Center in Kanchanaburi, Kanchanaburi Vocational College, and the Provincial Vocational Training Center, which all provide knowledge and hands-on training to students.
Her Royal Highness also followed up on the School Agriculture for Lunch Project, which encourages students to gain hands-on experience by cultivating leafy greens, vine vegetables, oyster mushrooms, and fruit trees, as well as raising egg-laying chickens, ducks, pigs, and fish. The produce is sufficient to support the school’s lunch program. The project has also been extended to the local community, with the school distributing vegetable and fruit seeds to parents to grow for household consumption and help reduce expenses.
Finally, Her Royal Highness visited local residents and the Royal Mobile Medical Unit, which included medical personnel from Sai Yok Hospital and a Royal Dental Unit from the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University. These units provided medical and dental services to students and local villagers.
