Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited Ban Mae La Khee Border Patrol Police Learning Center, Tha Song Yang District, Tak Province, to follow up on the progress of projects under her royal initiative.

On 22 December 2025 at 1:10 p.m., Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously visited to follow up on the implementation of royal initiative projects at Ban Mae La Khee Border Patrol Police Learning Center, Tha Song Yang District, Tak Province. This marked her fourth visit to the learning center and her 1,136th visit to Border Patrol Police schools nationwide.

The learning center currently provides education from kindergarten through Grade 6 and has a total of 100 students. It is under the responsibility of Border Patrol Police Subdivision 34.

On this occasion, Her Royal Highness followed up on the progress of the Royal Initiative Project for the Development of Children and Youth in Remote Areas. In terms of educational quality development, the school currently has 10 students under royal patronage and 13 graduates. In vocational training, students are taught haircutting and traditional weaving skills, producing items such as shoulder bags and Karen-style shirts.

Regarding student cooperative activities, the school operates a shop selling consumer goods and agricultural produce, and organizes educational field trips to help students learn cooperative principles. For library activities, the school has more than 2,600 books, including a Royal Bestowed Book Corner, and promotes a love of reading by encouraging students to conduct online research, summarize key points in worksheets, and present their findings during morning assemblies.

Under the School Lunch Agriculture Project, students engage in hands-on practice to develop agricultural skills, including growing vegetables in greenhouses such as morning glory, Chinese kale, kale, and cabbage, cultivating oyster mushrooms, and planting fruit trees including bananas, jackfruit, mangoes, and avocados. The school also raises laying hens, pigs, and catfish and tilapia in earthen ponds. The produce is sufficient for preparing school lunches.

The project has been extended to the community by distributing vegetable seedlings and fruit saplings to local residents for household consumption. The school also serves as a learning base for agricultural knowledge transfer, enabling community members to apply the knowledge in daily life and develop supplementary income-generating activities.

On this occasion, Her Royal Highness observed a student performance entitled “Kita Muay Thai.” She then graciously met with local people and visited the Royal Medical Unit from Tha Song Yang Hospital, which provided medical services to students and members of the public during the visit.
