On Tuesday 22 April 2025, at 09:00 hours, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the opening ceremony of the Conference entitled \u201cBuilding Healthier Futures: 25 Years of Thai\u2013Lao Collaboration in Medical and Public Health Capacity Building under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn\u201d at Holiday Inn & Suites, Vientiane Capital, Lao People’s Democratic Republic. Her Royal Highness was welcomed by Professor Dr. Bounfeng Phoummalaysith, Minister of Health, Lao PDR; Dr. Mayfong Mayxay, President of University of Health Sciences; Professor Emeritus Dr. Kraisid Tontisirin, Advisor to the Office of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn\u2019s Projects; Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA); Professor Dr. Piyamitr Sritara, President of Mahidol University; and Professor Emeritus Dr. Vichai Tienthavorn, President of Praboromarajchanok Institute.<\/span><\/p>\n

The conference commemorated the 25th anniversary of the Thai-Lao collaboration in medical and public health capacity building under the initiative of Her Royal Highness as well as on the auspicious occasion of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn\u2019s 70th birthday in 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

The two-day conference, held from April 22\u201323, 2025, was jointly organized by the Office of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn\u2019s Projects, Mahidol University, Thailand International Cooperation Agency, the Embassy of Thailand in Vientiane, and the Ministry of Health of the Lao PDR. The event brought together alumni from 17 provinces and Vientiane Capital as well as academics from the Ministry of Health and the University of Health Sciences in Lao PDR and faculty from Mahidol University, Thailand. The conference provided a platform for alumni to present their research and academic papers as well as to share their experiences and thoughts with specialists and others and to encourage participants to recognize and appreciate the importance of research and academic work, which will lead them to continuously develop themselves and subsequently improve their work.<\/span><\/p>\n
