Introduction

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has visited Lao People’s Democratic Republic for many times and she has recognized that in each province, municipality, or special region, the Governor is a key person for developing the well-being of the people. Consequently, she initiated Study Tours to Thailand for Governors from every province, municipality, or special region of Lao People’s Democratic Republic since 2003. Through the study tour, Governors from Lao People’s Democratic Republic and from Thailand have an opportunity to learn from each other more closely in terms of various development policies and programs for improving the quality of life of their people, such as agriculture, education, public health, income generation, tourism, and administration. In addition, more discussions have been conducted for further collaboration. Most importantly, this initiative strengthens the fruitful relations between both countries.
