Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited Chiang Rai–Phayao Vocational Border Patrol Police School, Chiang Khong District, Chiang Rai Province.

On June 19, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously proceeded to follow up on the implementation of royal initiative projects at Chiang Rai–Phayao Vocational Border Patrol Police School, located in Chiang Khong District, Chiang Rai Province. This marked Her Royal Highness’s seventh visit to this school and the 1,130th visit to a Border Patrol Police School. The school currently offers education from kindergarten to Grade 6 and has 138 students enrolled.

On this occasion, Her Royal Highness graciously presented First-Class Honorary Pins to 30 individuals who have supported the royal initiative projects. In addition, 11 scholarship recipients under royal patronage were granted an audience to present their academic progress reports.

Her Royal Highness observed various royal initiative activities, including library programs and reading promotion such as using dictionaries to find word meanings and creating mini books. She also visited the school clinic, the student cooperative activities, where students practiced managing a school shop and savings programs.

In terms of vocational training, Chiang Rai Vocational College and Wiang Chiang Rung Vocational College provided instruction in basic sewing. Students were able to sew scarves and shoulder bags. The school received sewing machines and a revolving fund from Her Royal Highness to support these activities. Other creative initiatives included eco-printing with leaves to create garments and household items.

The women’s group which had received training in hill tribe fabric product development under the Her Royal Highness Initiative in 2019 has now formed into product processing groups in Ban Kiew Kan and Ban Kiew Doi Luang. The group members are now able to perform basic tailoring and sell their finished products, such as laptop sleeves, pencil cases, and cosmetic bags, within the local area. Their work has attracted support and purchase orders from external agencies, providing members with income to support their families.

Her Royal Highness also followed up on the School Agricultural Lunch Project, which encourages students to engage in hands-on farming, including growing vegetables, fruit trees, legumes, and raising chickens, pigs, and catfish. The harvested products are used as ingredients in school lunches. Students also learn agricultural product processing, such as transforming the school’s abundant bananas into crispy banana chips, which extend shelf life and add value.

Additionally, the school practices sustainable self-reliant agriculture, including growing vegetable seedlings, making compost, breeding chickens, and cultivating duckweed as supplemental animal feed. The school shares the benefits with the community by distributing sweet gourd seedlings, vegetable plants, and chicks to students and local residents, helping promote food security and supplemental income.

Her Royal Highness also observed a student performance titled “The Way of Hmong Life”, and later visited the local residents and the Royal Medical Unit, which Her Royal Highness had graciously tasked medical personnel and staff from Somdet Phra Yuparat Chiang Khong Hospital to join in providing health and dental services for students and the surrounding community.
