Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously paid a visit to Ban Pa Nan School

17 September 2026, at 12:50 p.m., Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously paid a visit to follow up on Children and Youth Development Project under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn at Ban Pa Nan School in Si Sakhon District, Narathiwat Province, on 17 September 2026. This marked Her Royal Highness’s seventh visit to this school.

The school, established in 1982, provides education from kindergarten to primary level (Grade 6). It currently serves 411 students with the total of 29 teachers and educational staff. Ban Pa Nan School, situated within the educational jurisdiction of the Narathiwat Primary Educational Service Area Office 1.

On this occasion, Her Royal Highness unveiled the plaque of the Royal School Canteen. Her Royal Highness graciously granted a budget of 3,920,000 Baht for the construction of the Royal School Canteen, with a capacity of 84 seats, to replace the old canteen building, which was regularly affected by flooding every year, causing damage to the canteen equipment and materials.

Her Royal Highness observed the implementation of projects under her royal initiative, which aim to promote and improve the quality of life of children and youth. The activities include vocational training, such as teaching students in Grades 4–6 to make bakery products, including banana cake, pandan layer cake, and fresh milk tofu pudding, for sale through the student cooperative. The students can apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired to develop supplementary occupations and generate income while pursuing their education.

The herbal garden activity involves a local expert sharing knowledge and skills with the students. The students use medicinal plants grown at the school, such as phlai (Cassumunar ginger), citronella, kaffir lime, and turmeric, to make herbal balm and herbal massage oil.

The library activity features a corner for books graciously donated by Her Royal Highness, a collection of the Encyclopedia for Youth, and various educational books, as well as reading promotion activities. On this occasion, the students recited poetry in tribute to Her Royal Highness, expressing their gratitude for Her Royal Highness’s gracious benevolence.

Her Royal Highness also observed activities at the school infirmary and student cooperative activities. Regarding the School Lunch Agriculture Project, the school conducts a variety of activities, emphasizing hands-on learning and practical experience for students. These include growing vegetables, cultivating mushrooms, and raising chickens, ducks, catfish, and tilapia. The produce is used as ingredients for school lunches for the students.

In accordance with Her Royal Highness’s royal guidance on constructing raised beds for growing shallow-rooted vegetables to address the annual flooding of agricultural areas, the school has established six raised beds. The students grow vegetables such as coriander, spring onions, chili peppers, morning glory, and lettuce. The activity has been carried out continuously since 2018.

On this occasion, Her Royal Highness graciously granted an audience to administrators, teachers, and students from 20 schools under the child and youth development project in Narathiwat Province.

Thereafter, Her Royal Highness graciously visited the Royal Medical and Dental Units from Si Sakhon Hospital, Rueso Hospital, and Naradhiwasrajanagarindra Hospital, which provided general medical examinations and dental services to students and members of the public in the area. A total of 316 people received medical services. The most commonly detected condition was respiratory disease.
