On 22 September 2026 at 10:40 a.m., Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn arrived at the Chaipattana Building, Chitralada Villa, Dusit Palace, and graciously granted an audience to Professor Emeritus Dr. Kraisid Tontisirin, Advisor to the Royal Initiative Projects of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. He led a delegation of teachers and representatives from the Ministry of Education of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste who were participating in the Child and Youth Development Training Program for Teachers and Practitioners under the Thailand–Timor-Leste Cooperation Project for Child and Youth Development under the Royal Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, together with the training organizing committee, to pay their respects.
On this occasion, Her Royal Highness graciously presented certificates to 18 participants and vegetable seeds to a representative of the Ministry of Education and also observed presentations on the school information and project progress. Her Royal Highness graciously presented computers, printers, equipment for assessing students’ nutritional status, instructional materials for teachers on agriculture, health, and hygiene, as well as basic medicines for use in school activities.
The Child and Youth Development Cooperation Project in the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste has been implemented since 2014. At present, six schools participate in the project and receive support for infrastructure, materials and equipment, and academic support to promote good nutrition, health, and hygiene among children and youth. The schools conduct agricultural activities and vegetable cultivation, with students gaining hands-on experience. The produce is used for preparing meals, resulting in improved health and nutritional status among the students.
The training program was conducted from 20 to 30 September 2026 by The Office of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Projects, in cooperation with the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and relevant agencies. Participants included representatives from the Ministry of Education, school principals, agriculture teachers, health teachers, and a project coordinator from the Royal Thai Embassy in Dili. The training comprised lectures, practical agricultural training at the Phufa Development Center under the Royal Initiative, and study visits to schools participating in the Royal Initiative Projects in Nan Province. The program aimed to enhance knowledge and skills, provide opportunities for participants to exchange experiences, and apply the knowledge gained to improve school activities and further enhance the quality of life of children and youth.
