On September 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited Santhiratprachabumlung Border Patrol Police School in Palian District, Trang Province, for the seventh time to follow up on the progress of projects under her royal initiative. This marked Her Royal Highness’s 1,141st visit to a Border Patrol Police School. The school currently offers education from kindergarten to Grade 6, with 82 students, six Border Patrol Police teachers, and four contract teachers. The school is under the jurisdiction of Border Patrol Police Sub-Division 43.
On this occasion, Her Royal Highness followed up on the implementation of the Child and Youth Development Project in Remote Areas under her royal initiative, covering nutrition, education, vocational skills, the school infirmary, library, student cooperative, and the preservation of local culture and wisdom. Most students had nutritional status and development appropriate for their age. Fourteen students are currently studying under Her Royal Highness’s support, while 26 have already graduated. The Grade 6 students’ 2025 O-NET science scores were higher than the national average. The school also promotes vocational skills, including making grass brooms and men’s haircuts, as well as making Di Sam, a traditional southern Thai sweet prepared for the Sart Duean Sip Festival. Her Royal Highness also viewed a traditional Manora performance by the students.
Under the School Lunch Agriculture Project, students gain hands-on experience in growing vegetables, cultivating mushrooms, growing fruit trees, raising laying hens and broiler chickens, and raising catfish in concrete ponds. The produce is used as ingredients for school lunches. The project is also extended to the community by distributing seedlings to parents for household consumption and promoting knowledge of health and hygiene, environmental sanitation, and household accounting.
On this occasion, Her Royal Highness visited local residents, the Royal Medical Unit, and the Royal Dental Unit, which, at Her Royal Highness’s gracious instruction, brought together medical teams from Palian Hospital, Trang Hospital, and Yan Ta Khao Hospital, as well as the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University, to provide medical examinations and treatment and dental services to students and members of the public. A total of 232 people received medical services, while 381 people received dental services.
