Thai-Lao collaboration in medical and public health capacity building has been implemented since 2000 in accordance with Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s initiative.
On the occasion of 25 years and entering the 26th and beyond of the Thai-Lao collaboration in medical and public health capacity building, and on the auspicious occasion of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s 70th birthday in 2025, the Office of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Projects, Mahidol University, Thailand International Cooperation Agency, the Embassy of Thailand in Vientiane, and the Ministry of Health of the Lao PDR have jointly organized a conference “Building Healthier Futures: 25 Years of Thai-Lao Collaboration in Medical and Public Health Capacity Building under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn”.
Objectives:
1. To provide a forum for alumni to present their research and academic papers, as well as to share their experiences and thoughts with specialists and others.
2. To encourage participants to recognize and appreciate the importance of research and academic work, which will lead them to continuously develop themselves and subsequently improve their work.
3. To establish collaborative networks among alumni with related academic backgrounds as well as between Thailand and Lao PDR in order to ensure progress in building healthier futures.
Conference formats:
It includes special lectures, oral and poster presentation, round table discussion exhibitions on ‘25 Years of Thai-Lao Collaboration in Medical and Public Health Capacity Building’ and innovations in medicine and public health.
Participants:
Alumni (from 17 Districts and Vientiane Capital), researchers and academics from the Ministry of Public Health and the University of Health Sciences, Lao PDR. Professor from Mahidol University. The expected numbers of participants are around 330 people.
