At 8:40 a.m. on September 17, 2025 , Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the official opening of a Royal Preschool Building at Ban Muno School, Muno Subdistrict, Su-ngai Kolok District, Narathiwat Province.
Ban Muno School was severely affected by the fireworks warehouse explosion that occurred on 29 July 2023, which caused extensive damage to school buildings, auxiliary structures, and other facilities – particularly the preschool building – making it impossible to conduct normal teaching and learning activities. Deeply concerned about the situation, Her Royal Highness graciously directed her personal royal project to survey the damage and identify appropriate measures to assist the school in resuming normal educational operations.
By Her great benevolence, Her Royal Highness graciously granted financial support for the construction of a Royal Preschool Building consisting of three classrooms, restrooms, and a mezzanine floor for students’ daytime naps. Construction was completed on 2 November 2024. In addition, Her Royal Highness graciously bestowed 120 sets of children’s bedding, 15 Japanese-style tables, three sets of teachers’ desks and chairs, and 12 wall-mounted fans.
The Royal Preschool Building is currently being used effectively for early childhood education and has successfully addressed the shortage of classrooms. The building has been in use for teaching and learning since 2 January 2025. Furthermore, Her Royal Highness graciously donated 15 computers for instructional use for students from Grade 1 to Grade 9.
Ban Muno School currently serves a total of 844 students from kindergarten to Grade 9 and operates under Narathiwat Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, the Office of the Basic Education Commission.
On this occasion, Her Royal Highness graciously presented gifts to the school director and student representatives, as well as fruit tree saplings to representatives of the local community. She also observed various kindergarten learning activities, including movement and rhythm activities (Caterpillar Set) for Kindergarten Level 2, the “Little Scientists House” activity for Kindergarten Level 3 on the topic of biodiversity, and integrated STEM creative activities for Kindergarten Level 3.
On this auspicious occasion of the royal opening of the Royal Preschool Building, the administrators, teachers, and students of Ban Muno School express their profound gratitude for Her boundless royal compassion and concern. Her gracious assistance has alleviated hardship and enabled the school to continue providing education to students to their fullest potential.
